Alfred L'Altrelli is the Administrative Director of Pharmacy at UPMC Presbyterian. In this role, he leads clinical patient care and operational pharmacy services, as well as the investigational drug services center. He chairs the UPMC system Operations Pharmacist Integration Council and sits on or chairs multiple other system and hospital committees. 
 
Dr. L'Altrelli received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 2006.  After graduation he went on to pursue pharmacy operations within the UPMC health system. Dr. L'Altrelli is the program director for the PGY-1/PGY-2 UPMC Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency program.  He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and precepts a management rotation for both students and pharmacy residents.  He has been with the School of Pharmacy since 2011.     
 
Dr. L'Altrelli's work with administrators, system leaders, and chiefs of service has continued to push the advancement of pharmacy within the system. He has a strong focus on innovation and technology that is evident through the expansion of pharmacy's scope of practice and new practice models at UPMC Presbyterian. His work outside of UPMC pushes companies to develop technology and other solutions for Pharmacy's future as well as creates visibility for these advancements that other institutions can follow.
