Sharon E. Connor provides comprehensive pharmacy services in free health care clinics and community health centers in the Pittsburgh area. She has experience with pharmacy program implementation and assessment in resource-limited settings locally and globally stemming from her local work in partnership with Health Care for the Homeless, the Birmingham Free Clinic, the UPMC Matilda Theiss Center, and the North Side Christian Health Center.


Her pharmacy work expands outside the United States through her experiences in short- and long-term medical service trips. She has conducted research assessing medication-taking behavior and adherence during a short-term medical mission with Shoulder to Shoulder in Honduras. Her work includes the implementation and assessment of innovative models designed to streamline workflow while optimizing resources. She has worked in the health care setting across cultures in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Malawi, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Her interests are in health care access and global health focusing on underserved populations.


Dr. Connor serves as the director of the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for Underserved Populations. She is the co-director of the Area of Concentration in Global Health at the School of Pharmacy and the site director of the PGY2 in ambulatory care - global health track. She is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. degree in psychology and a Pharm.D. degree.
