Avantika Gupta, M. Pharm., is currently a Ph.D. student in the Clinical Pharmaceutical sciences track and conducts research in Dr. Raman Venkataramanan lab located at Salk hall, School of Pharmacy, University of Pittsburgh. Avantika recieved her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy from Bombay college of Pharmacy, Mumbai University, India with a concentration in Medicinal chemistry. She has industrial work experience in Research and Development centre of a multinational pharmaceutical company, Cipla Ltd., where she gained expertise in analytical method development for numerous pharmaceutical formulations, primarily orally inhaled nasal drug products (OINDP’s), solutions and Injectables. Currently in Dr. Venkat lab, Avantika's doctoral reasearch focusses on evaluation of functional capacites of kidneys and livers in instances of Xenotransplantation.
Avantika's research interest is composed of understanding mechanisms and timeline of functional capacities of kidneys and livers in transplant patients. Extrapolating this inclination towards Xenotransplantation, she aims to focus on genetically modified liver and kidneys that can intent to potentially supply to the worldwide shortage for clinical implantation.
