The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy supports the development of pharmacy residents as pharmacist educators of the future through a structured program of learning and experiences to further their abilities in teaching.This individualized program, available to PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents for the past 9 years, provides didactic discussions of “best practices” educational methodologies and diverse teaching opportunities in a longitudinal teaching experience.
The program provides opportunities to review and apply fundamental principles of learning and teaching through structured educational sessions and teaching opportunities including large group engagement, small group facilitation and effective preceptorship.Each participant who completes all program requirements will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the year, awarded on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.
