Reason for attending
The UPMC PGY2 oncology residency program appealed to me because of the diversity of their oncology practice areas which enables residents to develop problem-solving skills in cancer therapy and establish a firm knowledge base in oncologic diseases and treatment options, as well as antineoplastic pharmacology and pharmacokinetics.

As someone seeking an exemplary career within a progressive environment, I was drawn to UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside for its profound impact as an industry leader and for setting the standard of excellence in oncology practice. This environment would allow me to train on the forefront of emerging practices and be introduced to research and literature so I can make, understand, and support evidence-based decisions. I was further drawn to this program because it is a National Cancer Institute designated site and has collaborative practices which would allow me to practice at the top of my license.
