PittPharmacy student Justin Saver (class of 2018) along with Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, School of Pharmacy, University Pharmacy, and the University of Pittsburgh Police Department conducted a successful Drug Take Back Day on March 4, 2015.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- 7 Hours spent at University Pharmacy
- 450 lbs. Drugs collected
- 35 File boxes filled with drugs
- 142 Participants brought back drugs
Initiatives like this one are crucial in supporting the health of the University Community and of the Greater Pittsburgh region. Countless cases of drug abuse, drug overdose, and environmental contamination were prevented.
