Olufunmilola Abraham, PhD, MS, BPharm, was invited to speak at the 2016 AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting June 24-28, 2016 in Boston, Mass. Abraham will be one of 5 panel speakers at the session entitled “Emerging Scholars: New Investigator Small Grant Program (NISGP) Awardees’ Presentations.” This session features AcademyHealth New Investigator Small Grant Program (NISGP) Awardees and their innovative research. The NISGP is designed to support the careers of new health services researchers.
Abraham also presented at the Tenth Annual Chapel Hill Pharmaceutical Science (PharmSci 2016) Conference on May 12-13, 2016 hosted by the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Chapel Hill, N.C., and supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The theme of the conference was “Addressing Methodological and Ethical Issues in Pediatric Medication Safety Research.” Abraham's presentation, "Barriers to Pharmacist-Child Communication: Implications for Providing Medication Counseling in Community Pharmacies", provides innovative approaches for improving medication counseling for pediatric patients in the community.
Abraham is an assistant professor in the pharmacy and therapeutics department at PittPharmcy and a member of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA) Editorial Review Board which oversees the publishing of peer review articles for the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Journal.
