Dr. Andrew Haddad, a 2021 graduate of the PharmD program at Pitt and a current Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences PhD student working in the laboratory of Dr. Philip Empey, was selected to present his research at the All of Us Research Program Science Day.
This event showcased scientists working with the All of Us Research Program and the value of its Researcher Workbench as part of the inaugural Researchers Convention. The All of Us Research Program, which is a part of the National Institutes of Health, is enrolling one million people across the U.S. to help build one of the most diverse health databases in history to enable precision medicine, like pharmacogenomics. Haddad’s talk entitled: Pharmacogenomic Medication Exposures within All of Us Research Program Participants, evaluated pharmacogenomic variant and medication exposure frequency in nearly 100,000 participants. His work showed the potential value of pharmacogenomic data as over 60% of participants have been exposed to at least one medication with pharmacogenomics prescribing guidance.
