The Beta Kappa chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy was honored to receive numerous awards at the 60th Grand Council Convention, held this summer in Phoenix, AZ.
Beta Kappa won a Top Performing Chapter Award, which was given to the top 8 Kappa Psi chapters nationwide, to recognize the entire chapter's efforts to uphold the ideals of the fraternity and the profession of pharmacy.
Beta Kappa also won the Advocacy Award, which awarded their efforts in advocating for patient health through various projects, media outlets, immunization clinics, direct patient care efforts, and pharmacy policy advocacy.
Fourth-year student Maggie Schmidt won the Member Spotlight Award, for her achievements and efforts within the fraternity and school of pharmacy. Grand Council Deputy Karen Hoang PharmD, MPH (PHARM '16) won the Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence for her continued efforts in mentoring and strengthening the Beta Kappa chapter. Fourth-year students Ilane Saad and Maggie Schmidt were honored to serve as the delegates and receive these awards for the Beta Kappa chapter at the 60th Grand Council Conference.
