Lead Pharmacy Intern at the Cleveland Clinic: Mikhaila Rice

pittpharmacy_mikhailarice_0014Mikhaila Rice (Class of 2019)  was selected to serve as Lead Intern at the Cleveland Clinic in 2017 after completing a summer pharmacy internship. The competitive Cleveland Clinic inpatient internship program consists of a year-round internship with a 12-week summer component and a weekend commitment throughout the academic year. The 12-week rotational experience includes rotations such as central pharmacy, sterile and non-sterile compounding, drug information, and clinical experience in internal medicine and cardiology with optional rotations in other areas of pharmacy specialization. The internship program includes two formal presentations, one of which describes implementation and impact of a long-term project completed over the course of the summer. As lead intern, Rice will act as a liaison between returning and newly-hired interns and the advisors/program director. Rice  will also serve as a resource to fellow interns.
