Lingjue Li, a graduate student in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientists Program, received an Early Career Investigator Travel Bursary from the BRAIN & BRAIN PET 2017 Conference held in Berlin, Germany April 2017. Lingjue submitted her abstract titled "The effect of 20-HETE inhibition by HET0016 on the cerebral microvascular circulation after asphyxial cardiac arrest in pediatric rats". Her poster was presented at the conference.
This biannual conference is organized by the International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (ISCBFM) and featured state-of-the-art neuroscience research in the fields of brain function and metabolism, cerebral blood flow, the function of the neurovascular unit, brain imaging, brain repair, and cerebrovascular pathology. Leading scientists presented state-of-the art and novel discoveries that will increase our understanding of brain function under physiological and pathological conditions through basic, translational, and clinical investigation. The International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (ISCBFM) promotes research in cerebral blood flow, cerebral metabolism, and cerebral function in physiological and pathophysiological states. Interests of members of the Society range from the molecular and genomic mechanism of ischemia through clinical investigations of cerebral blood flow and metabolism.
Li is a PittPharmacy graduate student in the clinical pharmaceutical scientist program track. Her advisor is Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs, Professor Samuel M. Poloyac, PharmD, PhD. Her co-advisor is Assistant Professor Mioara D. Manole, MD in Safar Center for Resuscitation Research.
