Mengxi Jiang, a 4th year graduate student has presentation voted "Best Oral Presentation Award" at the 5th Great Lakes Nuclear Receptor Conference (GLNRC)

Mengxi Jiang, a fourth-year graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Wen Xie at the Center for Pharmacogenetics, was chosen for a podium presentation at the 5th Great Lakes Nuclear Receptor Conference (GLNRC) held in Chicago, October 12-13, 2012.  Mengxi Jiang’s presentation, titled “Steroid sulfatase enhances hepatic estrogen activity and protects mice from obesity and type 2 diabetes,” was voted for the Best Oral Presentation Award at the conference. The Great Lakes Nuclear Receptor Conference is a biennial meeting organized by leading researchers in the area of nuclear receptors and is held every other year at different institutions in the great lakes area.  The goal of this conference is to spur further research and collaboration in the area of nuclear receptors and to provide unique opportunities for interactions and career development for students and trainees.
