PittPharmacy faculty member Michael A. Shullo, PharmD, has been appointed associate director-cardiac transplantation, in the UPMC Advanced Heart Failure Program. Shullo received his BS and PharmD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and completed his pharmacy practice residency at Pitt. He joined the PIttPharmacy faculty in 1998 and has served as a clinical pharmacist in thoracic transplant since 2002. Shullo was appointed director of pharmacotherapy of the Artificial Heart Program in 2012. Shullo has published extensively on pharmacotherapy of cardiac transplantation patients, and has served in numerous leadership roles including his current position as the chair of the Pharmacy and Pharmacology Council of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Shullo will contribute importantly to the leadership of the UPMC Advanced Heart Failure Program at a time when complexities in the management of these patients demand the expertise he possesses. Michael A.Shullo is an associate professor of pharmacy and therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.
