NIAID Grant Awarded to Xiaocha Ma

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has awarded a grant to PittPharmacy Associate Professor Xiaocha Ma, PhD for his project Drug-induced Liver Injury Associated with Anti-retroviral Therapy. The results from this project are expected to provide a mechanistic understanding of liver injury associated with ritonavir-containing protease inhibitor regimens, which will be applied toward the development of an evidence-based approach to improve the safety profile of HIV protease inhibitors. Xiaochao Ma, PhD is an associate professor in the pharmaceutical sciences department at the School of Pharmacy.
