Outstanding Professional Development Project Award to PittPharmacy Students

The University of Pittsburgh Chapter of Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHP) recently won the Outstanding Professional Development Project Award from American Society of Heath-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The project was in collaboration with Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic with Karen Fielding, PharmD managing pharmacist preceptor at WPIC.    A presentation was developed to educate patients at WPIC on pneumococcal and influenza vaccinations. Students involved with the project were class of 2017: Brittany Jordan, Kerry Moore, Alyssa Davis; class of 2016 students Valerie Nolt, and Alexandra Warble with preceptor Karen Fielding. Students not pictured Alyssa Miller, Dan Nelson, and Daisy Zhu. A blue ribbon will be awarded at the midyear clinical meeting in Anaheim, Ca., December 2014.
