Pharmacy resident Gale E. Garmong, PharmD has been awarded a grant by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Educational Foundation to support his residency project Impact of Pharmacist Coaching on Targeted Medication Review Completion Rates in a Traditional Chain Community Pharmacy.
Garmong has developed and will implement a coaching program in collaboration with community partner, Rite Aid Pharmacy, to support community pharmacists in providing patient care. Evaluations will be made on the effects of medication therapy management completion rates, as well as pharmacist perceptions of the program.
Garmong is a PGY-1 Community Practice Resident with Rite Aid Pharmacy. PittPharmacy Assistant Dean for Community Partnerships, Melissa Somma McGivney is the residency director and senior investigator on the project.
