Pharmacy Students Receive SIG Grant

Four University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy PharmD students secured all available grants in a state-wide competition hosted by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association. PPA's Special Interest Group (SIG) for Independent Pharmacy is proud to announce this year's recipients of their grant to attend the National Community Pharmacists Association Convention this fall in Orlando, FL: Kyle McCormick (2014), Brandon Antinopoulos (2014), Kyle McGrath (2015), and Andrew Nguyen (2015). These students will attend the NCPA Conference and learn more about forging a career in independent pharmacy and also use the opportunity to network with Pennsylvania owners in attendance. Faculty mentors for these students are Melissa A. Somma McGivney, PharmD, FCCP associate professor, pharmacy and therapeutics and James J. Pschirer, PharmD assistant professor, pharmacy and therapeutics.
