Katherine Eichinger, MS, PharmD (photo left) was recently selected to receive a NIH Loan Repayment (LRP) award for Pediatric Research through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The Pediatric Research LRP is awarded to researchers investigating diseases and disorders that directly affect pediatric populations. During her 2 year award period, Eichinger will continue her research examining the safety and efficacy of a maternal RSV vaccine candidate. The LRP program was established to recruit and retain highly qualified professionals into biomedical research careers by repaying the researcher's educational debt, which may otherwise force them to abandon research and pursue higher-paying careers in industry.
