Walid F. Gellad, MD, MPH, University of Pittsburgh General Internal Medicine and Janice L. Pringle, PhD are in partnership on a research study titled Development of Educational Products for the Pennsylvania Department of Health Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) System User and Stakeholder. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health is funding this project from funds they received from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Guided by the research which identified and prioritized education best practices for prescribers and dispensers and strategies to effectively change clinical practice behavior related to prescribing, Pringle will develop educational products in multiple modalities to be used by the Pennsylvania Department of Health Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) and stakeholders. The results will be used for education and training related to the PDMP and the use of PDMP in clinical practices and health systems.
Pringle is an associate professor in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Department at PittPharmacy and director of the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU)
