PittPharmacy students Marissa Badzik (Class of 2018), Taylor Buck (Class of 2017), and Hayley Fedoruk (Class of 2017) received grants from Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association's Special Interest Group to attend the National Community Pharmacists Association's Annual Convention (NCPA) in New Orleans, Louisiana October 15-19, 2016. Students were selected based on extracurricular involvement, a letter of recommendation, and an essay detailing their interest in community pharmacy, particularly independent pharmacy.
The National Community Pharmacists Association, founded in 1898, represents America’s community pharmacists, including the owners of more than 22,000 pharmacies. The nation’s community pharmacies, pharmacy franchises, and regional chains dispense nearly half of the nation’s retail prescription medications.
