Pringle Receives Grant for Phase II Overdose Prevention
Janice L. Pringle, PhD received funding from the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency for Phase II of her Overdose Prevention study.
The goal of this project is to provide a public access web site that can support efforts within Pennsylvania counties to reduce overdoses and overdose deaths.
OverdoseFreePA is a public access website that includes 1) overdose death statistics in close-to-real-time; 2) presentations and curricula tailored to specific audiences (i.e., the public, Substance Use Disorder treatment professionals, criminal justice personnel, healthcare professionals, and school and community leaders); 3) strategies for building and maintaining community coalitions that address overdose prevention; 4) an expert Speaker’s Bureau; 5) information about recovery.
Pringle is an associate professor in the pharmacy and therapeutics department at the School of Pharmacy and director of Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU).
