Kellie Mitchell was elected as the new AFO-SIG chair-elect. The position is to serve as the Chair of AACP’s Administrative and Financial Officers Special Interest Group (AFO-SIG). Mitchell has been an active member of the AFO-SIG since its inception in 2007. The mission of AFO-SIG is to lead and partner with members to contribute financial/administrative expertise in a manner that supports the AACP and its membership in advancing pharmacy education, research, scholarship, practice and service to improve societal health.
Mitchell has been with the School of Pharmacy for 17 years and is currently the Director of Finance and Administration in the School.
School of Pharmacy staff member Thomas Waters was elected as Staff Association Council chair for the Staff Relations Committee. Waters will be affrmed as the new chair for the Staff Relations Committee of the University Staff Association Council (SAC) at the June meeting. The Staff Association Council (SAC) was established in 1970 to represent the University of Pittsburgh staff (excluding those covered by a collective bargaining agreement).
Waters has been with the School of Pharmacy for more than 15 years and serves as the school's Director of New Media and is a member of the school's Staff Leadership Team.
