PittPharmacy Fellow Ravi Patel '14 was selected to present at Stanford Medicine X, Standford University, California on September 16th-18th, 2016.
Medicine X is a catalyst for new ideas about the future of medicine and health care. The initiative explores how emerging technologies will advance the practice of medicine, improve health, and empower patients to be active participants in their own care. The “X” is meant to encourage thinking beyond numbers and trends—it represents the infinite possibilities for current and future information technologies to improve health.
Patel will make an oral presentation titled Reimagining the Future of Healthcare: Innovation at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. This presentation will review the formal implementation of Innovation in the curriculum at PittPharmacy, partnerships internal and external to the University of Pittsburgh, and the work of students. Oral presentation are chosen from a diverse group of entrepreneurs, clinicians, patients, academics, and technology experts. Representing pharmacy will be a unique opportunity to talk about the potential for this field to help improve education for students in the broad field of pharmacy.
