The University of Pittsburgh Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) chapter received a national award for Outstanding Professional Development during the 2021-2022 year! This award is presented by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) to SSHP chapters based on their leadership, educational impact, and innovative professional development events.
The award aims to spotlight the exceptional work of student chapters. For the Pitt Pharmacy chapter of SSHP, the most notable event leading up to this award was the contraception and sexual health initiative. Primarily driven by Jennifer Li, Feiran Liang, and Ragini Rangan, the chapter was able to educate over 300 undergraduate students regarding contraception and sexually transmitted infections. The students presented their work at the ASHP's Midyear Clinical Meeting.
