Tao Long Receives GPSG Leadership and Service Award

PittPharmacy_TaoLongGPSGaward2016The Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) of the University of Pittsburgh awarded the 2015-2016 Leadership and Service Award to Pitt Pharmacy graduate student Tao Long, BS. This award acknowledges the leadership and service that graduate and professional students provide to the University of Pittsburgh, the surrounding community, and to the world at large. As quoted from Long's acceptance letter: " This year's selection was very competitive. Your application stood out to our committee because you have demonstrated innovation, boundary breaking outreach, and dedication to the continuation of service!" The purpose of the award is to recognize and reward outstanding leadership and service by graduate and professional students at Pitt; make service by graduate and professional students more visible and valued on campus; contribute to or spark discussions about what constitutes good leadership and service by graduate and professional students on campus; help graduate and professional students prepare professionally for careers after graduation. Long, is a graduate student at PittPharmacy in the pharmaceutical sciences program track and currently serves as the president of the Pharmacy School Graduate Student Organization (PS-GSO). Long's advisor is faculty member Jeffrey K. Yao, PhD.
