Dr. Pater graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 1996. Following graduation, she completed an ASHP accredited Primary Care Residency at Shands Jacksonville (formerly University Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL).

Since that time, Dr. Pater has been caring for patients in the community in a variety of outpatient settings. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of pharmacy where she coordinates the Self-Care course in the 2nd professional year and serves as a Co-Chair of the Nonprescription Medicine Academy. Dr. Pater has a clinical practice at the UPMC Matilda Theiss Health Center where she also serves as a preceptor for IPPE and APPE core and elective rotations. She is a past president of the Allegheny County Pharmacist Association, and currently remains an active member on ACPA’s board of directors. Dr. Pater is passionate about the growth and development of our students and serves as the Co-Director of the Professional Development Team. She recently has been appointed as the Director of Sustainability at Pitt Pharmacy.
