Dr. Berenbrok serves as the Director of the University of Pittsburgh's Comprehensive Medication Management Benefit for faculty and staff. With faculty members from the School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine, Dr. Berenbrok leads the implementation of clinical pharmacogenomics services in outpatient settings.
At the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Berenbrok mentors students with interests in changing community pharmacy practice through enhanced community pharmacy services and innovative research. He coordinates first and second year courses focused on patient-provider communication, clinical skills, and motivational interviewing using standardized patients. He also coordinates experiential learning and skills-based courses focused in community and ambulatory care practice. He currently leads the implementation of an educational electronic health record and entrustable professional activities within the PharmD curriculum.
Dr. Berenbrok received his PharmD in 2013 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Afterwards, he completed a one-year community pharmacy practice residency with Kerr Drug and Walgreens at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy which focused on enhanced community pharmacy patient care services. He received his Master of Science in Clinical Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017 and is Board Certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Dr. Berenbrok serves as a faculty advisor to the University of Pittsburgh chapters of Phi Lambda Sigma and Interprofessional Student Board.
