Rhea Bowman, PharmD, is the Director of Communications and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics. Rhea brings with her dual credentials in pharmacy and communications, having earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and a Bachelor of Arts in Nonfiction English Writing, both from The University of Pittsburgh.
After graduation, Rhea worked as a pharmacist for CVS Pharmacy, then found her niche in managed care with CVS Caremark. There, she played an integral role performing comprehensive medication reviews and collaborating in an interprofessional practice with physicians and prescribers nationwide to manage medically complex patients. Her expertise in communications includes publishing a book as an undergraduate student, editing the "Residency Times" for CVS Caremark, and experience as a spokesperson to both local and national media.
As the Director of Communications, she currently manages consultants to Pitt Pharmacy and is responsible for leading the communications strategy for the school including print, digital, and video media.
