Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I wanted to enhance my research skills and experience with the longitudinal research project we take part in. I also wanted to further develop the network that I have with my peers also interested in residency as well as faculty involved with Scholars that I admire and respect!

Career goals:
I aspire to be a clinical pharmacist with a focus in ambulatory care!

Personal interest:
I am a frequent flyer at my favorite cycling studio in Pittsburgh (Steelhouse Cycle)! I also enjoy reading books.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I joined Scholars for the opportunity to complete an IRB-approved research project with faculty guidance, and for mentorship to help me effectively prepare for residency applications.

Career goals:
I plan to pursue a PGY-1 residency next year, as well as a PGY-2 residency focusing in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care. My ultimate career goal is to serve as a clinical pharmacist in an Emergency Department setting.

Personal interest:
When I am not at work or school, I am usually reading, practicing Spanish, doing yoga, or working on art projects.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
The Scholars Program aligns perfectly with my goal of becoming a skilled clinical pharmacist by developing my clinical decision-making abilities, enhancing my research skills through a longitudinal project, and providing professional development guidance. These experiences will prepare me for postgraduate residency training and a successful career in clinical pharmacy.

Career goals:
Complete a PGY1, PGY2, and become a clinical pharmacist in area of interest

I wanted to be in the Scholars program to get involved in research and better prepare for residency.

Career goals:
Complete a PGY1 and PGY2 and practice as a clinical pharmacist. Areas of interest are critical care, oncology, and infectious diseases.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
The outcomes-based clinical research project, rigorous direct patient care rotations, and peer-based learning in the Scholars ARCO appealed most to me.

Career goals:
My long-term goal is to conduct outcomes research through a public health lens as a practicing psychiatric or solid organ transplant clinical pharmacist at a large academic medical center.

Personal interest:
Substance use disorders, solid organ transplant, street medicine, and pain

I joined the Scholars program to surround myself with peers who had the same career intentions as me, looking for a network of future pharmacists who can lean on each other.

Career goals:
I hope to move back to the Midwest and complete a PGY1 closer to home, followed by a PGY2 in infectious diseases.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I wanted to be a scholar in order to futher develop my skills to become not only a better residency candidate but I better clinician. The scholars program offers unique opportunities that allow my to explore my career goals unlike any other program.

Career goals:
After graduation, I plan to complete a PGY1 pharmacy residency as well as a PGY2 in critical care.

Personal interest:
In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and reading.

Career goals:
My career goals include completing a PGY-1 residency and, subsequently, a PGY-2 focusing on either critical care (MICU, CTICU), emergency medicine, or transplant

Personal interest:
I live a very active lifestyle which includes running, swimming, weightlifting, and playing soccer. I am definitely more extroverted in personality - I like to cook/bake, especially for friends and family, and travel to new places and experience new things.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
Scholars offers a unique opportunity to tailor my P4 experiences according to my clinical interests with advanced rotations in diverse settings such as pediatric critical care, emergency medicine, and infectious diseases.

Career goals:
My career goals include completing a PGY1 residency and PGY2 in emergency medicine or critical care, with additional interest in caring for pediatric patients.

Personal interest:
Outside of rotations and my internship, I enjoy spending time with my friends, my dog Ted, and trying new coffee shops in PGH.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I wanted to enter the Scholars ARCO because I knew they would prepare me for residency. When first hearing about the program, I was interested in the psychiatry specialization option. After learning more, I felt that joining Scholars would be an overall beneficial experience that would help me see what residency is like.

Career goals:
After graduation, I plan to pursue residency training to further develop clinical skills. My ultimate career goal is to obtain a clinical pharmacist position after completing residency.

Personal interest:
I have an interest in psychiatric pharmacy. I am not sure whether I want to do inpatient or outpatient as there are aspects of both that I like. Other areas of interest include critical care, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
My decision to join the Scholars program was motivated by a desire to strengthen my clinical skills and become a competitive candidate for residency. From the beginning of pharmacy school, I knew that Scholars would provide valuable preparation for a clinical pharmacy residency. Through the program’s rotations, I refined my focus and confirmed my interest in pursuing a residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency. Scholars has not only been invaluable in preparing me for residency applications/interviews residency itself through its clinical and research component, but has also clarified my career path.

Career goals:
My career goal is to complete a two-year Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency with an MBA, ultimately positioning myself for a leadership role in pharmacy administration within an oncology center. This path will strengthen my expertise in both clinical and administrative areas, aligning perfectly with a leadership role in such a specialized and critical area of healthcare.

Personal interest:
My personal interests in pharmacy include leadership, oncology, transplant, and palliative care. I love reading, watching movies and TV shows, trying new restaurants, and going on walks.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I chose to be a part of the Pharmacotherapy Scholars area of concentration (ARCO) to further advance my clinical knowledge and experience the unique opportunity to prepare for a PGY-1 residency post-graduation. My first passion is providing accessible care to underserved communities, which led me to join the Global Health ARCO. Through this program and other extracurricular experiences, I discovered my interest in direct patient care and interprofessional healthcare collaboration in a clinical space, leading me to learn more about the Pharmacotherapy Scholars ARCO. Through challenging acute care rotations, the development of a longitudinal research project, and dedicated professors and faculty, I have been able to further enhance my critical thinking skills and clinical abilities. I am excited to continue growing into a well-rounded clinical pharmacist!

Career goals:
Emergency medicine, and learning about different fields!

Personal interest:
Baking, trying new foods, and hanging out with my friends, family, and cat

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
Since I was in high school, I have been interested in pursuing a post-graduate residency training program after pharmacy school. I chose the Pharmacotherapy Scholars Program for the unique opportunities to experience rigorous clinical rotations, conduct longitudinal research, and advance my professional development during pharmacy school. This program offers opportunities that challenge me as an individual and clinician, as well as expand my competency beyond the core curriculum. The training offered by this program will facilitate the development of skills necessary to succeed in a competitive pharmacy residency program.

Career goals:
I aspire to pursue a post-graduate residency training program at an academic medical center to develop into a proficient, independent, and confident clinical pharmacy specialist. After graduation, I plan to pursue a PGY1 and PGY2 residency, specializing in one of professional interests, such as critical care, emergency medicine, or cardiology. With this certification, I will foster strong relationships with my coworkers and act as an invaluable member of the medical team.

Personal interest:
In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

Why you would like to be a Scholar:
I wanted to join the Scholars Program because I wanted to personalize my education to challenge myself in acquiring advanced acute care knowledge and patient care skills. I believe that the Scholars Program electives, advanced patient care APPEs, and longitudinal research project not only supplied me with the skills necessary to pursue residency, but also to provide thorough care to patients in my future career as a pharmacist.

Career goals:
My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in clinical pharmacy in the acute care setting as I truly believe this is such a fundamental component of providing advanced patient care. I am currently interested in the clinical fields of critical care, oncology, infectious diseases, and solid organ transplant.

Personal interest:
During my free time, I enjoy being active in physical activities such as playing intramural ice hockey, running, and playing rounds of golf with close friends. I'm also a big Philadelphia sports fan and will catch any game I can!

I wanted to be in the Scholars program because of the focus on clinical decision making, rigorous patient care rotations, and the opportunity to complete research. The hope would be to prepare me for successful completion of a residency program.

Career goals:
After graduation, I hope complete PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs. After completion of my residency programs, I would like to become a clinical pharmacist.

I am interested in cardiology, critical care, and transplant.

I want to be a Scholar to help prepare me for residency. This program would provide me opportunities to develop my professionalism and clinical knowledge, as well as participate in a longitudinal research project.

Career goals:
My career goal is to pursue a residency in a VA and specialize in psychiatry. I hope to manage veterans' psychotropic medications outpatient.

Personal interest:
I enjoy watching sports, playing golf and basketball, watching TV, and attending Pitt football games.

After graduation I’d like to pursue a PGY1 residency and later a PGY2 in critical care. I also have an interest in nuclear pharmacy and would like to look further into that.

Reading, hiking, stand up comedy, traveling, going to food and music festivals
