Beginning in week 6 of the first semester, students work with standardized patients and work with our neighbors in local communities through service-based learning.
Guided, personalized education.
Students begin meeting with faculty and staff through our pre-pharmacy organization (RxPrep) and with faculty advisors beginning at orientation week. Faculty advisors stay with the student the entirety of their Pitt Pharmacy experience building lasting relationships.
Medication expert, practice ready at graduation.
The outcomes of the Pitt Pharmacy curriculum ensure students are able to build strengths as a medication expert ready, practitioner ready at graduation to practice in all health care and pharmacy settings, as well as interprofessional health teams.
Developing a leadership style.
Students work with a unique team of 5-6 students each academic term allowing them to collaborate and learn to lead within a team and grow a leadership style. Students are encouraged to explore professional organizations where there are opportunities for a wide variety of leadership roles.
Accomplished alumni.
PittPharmacy alumni are leaders nationwide caring for people in communities, health care settings, they are leaders in industry, business, and research environments. Our alumni are frequent guests in our classrooms and serve as preceptors to students nationwide.
