The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy offers a 2-year fellowship program seeks highly motivated and creative individuals who wish to pursue research in antiretroviral clinical pharmacology. Our goal is to train future independent researchers and/or faculty members with a solid foundation in clinical pharmacology in the HIV/AIDS research space.
Fellows will:
- Conduct and lead research with the objective to advance antiretroviral pharmacology research for those living with HIV or for those receiving antiretrovirals for the prevention of HIV.
- Be mentored by faculty members at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and UPMC, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and the Rustbelt Center for AIDS Research.
- Contribute to the scientific literature through scholarly activities including publications and presentations at scientific meetings.
- Assist in the writing of applications and scientific reports to funding organizations.
- Participate in the School of Pharmacy’s didactic programs by working actively with students and other learners in developing their research projects.
- Receive an annual stipend and health insurance.
- (Optional) Have the opportunity to complete the MS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Eligibility
Applicants should have a strong interest in HIV/AIDS, antiretrovirals, and drug metabolism/pharmacokinetics. Applicants should either possess a PharmD degree (PGY1 residency training preferred but not required) or be a final-year PharmD student with APPE experience related to HIV as well as be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Pennsylvania.
